A - Category or type of visa
This will determine the status of your current visa based on L= Tourist Visa; F= Business Visa; X= Student Visa; Z=Working Visa; J=Reporter Visa
B - Number of entries
Entries: The number of times you can enter into China during the visa validity period. There are only four kinds of entries: 00=Zero, 01=Single, 02=Double, M=Multiple
C - Entry Before
Entry Before: This means the last validity date of your China visa and you are required to enter into China before the date stipulated on the Visa. The date is in year/month/day format.
D - Duration of Each Stay
Duration of Each Stay: This is the maximum period of days you can stay in China after each entry. Length of stay can be varied from 5 days up to a maximum of one year period from your last date of entry
2.What is the maximum period of Chinese Visa validity?
Refer to your ˇ°entry before dateˇ± is the validity of your visa
3.What can I do if I hold a tourist (L) visa and want to stay longer in China?
L visa can be extended once or twice. L visa can also be converted to a 3, 6, 12 months Business (F) visa. Although there is no upper limit to the period of extension, the maximum period for your stay in China without exiting is 1 year from your last date of entry. Also, there are higher restrictions imposed on certain countries as to the maximum period of stay for the Chinese visa, please contact us for more detail.
4.I have a double/multi-entry Visa, but have 30 days limit for each stay. How can I remove it?
Per stay limit cannot be removed in China starting from December 2004 with the new regulation. If you wish to stay beyond the days allowed stipulated in your China visa, JDL can assist you to apply for a new F-business visa. Your current visa will be revoked at the same time once your new F-business visa is approved. Be discreet when you intent to apply for double/ multiple entry visas outside China.
5.I will travel between Hong Kong and the mainland multiple times. Do I need a multiple entry visa?
Yes, you do need a multiple entry visa and each time you enter China from Hong Kong or Macao will be considered as one entry.
6.I'm entering to China on January 1 2007, and my visa expires on January 10 2007. Can I still stay for a period of 30 days?
Yes, you can. As long as you enter China on or before the stipulated expiry date, you can stay for 30 or more days as specified on your visa. The duration of stay starts from the day you enter into China.
7.How can I get the Residence Registration Certificate in order to apply for visas or residence permits?
> If it is a legitimate hotel as well as registered with local police stations, you can ask the hotel to issue the certificate
> If it is an apartment or house you rented and owned by Chinese individuals, you should ask the owner to go to the local police station to get the certificate. Documents required by the police:
a. Copy of property ownership certificate; b. Owner book of Hukou and Identification Card; c. your passport with a valid visa
> If it is an apartment or house that you bought, you should go to the local police station with these documents:
a. Copy of property ownership certificate; b. your passport with a valid visa
> If it is an apartment or house you rented and owned by Chinese organizations (except for schools), you should ask the organization to issue a letter of certification, then take this letter and your passport to the local police station to get the residence certificate.
> Last but not least, if it is a school apartment (on campus), you should ask the school to issue the certificate accordingly

8.If my visa has expired, what will happen?
If your visa has expired for less than 10 days, you are required to go to the immigration office and file a record. You will receive a warning for violation. For foreigners whose visa has expired more than 10 days, it will result in a 500RMB fine per day except the first 10 days, and the maximum amount is 5000RMB. However, JDL can assist you in processing the fine and at the same time extend your expired visa to a valid one. Please contact us immediately for advise.
9.How long will my visa be approved when process by JDL Global?
For a standard visa service, it takes about 10 working days for it to approve and arrive in your hand. However, with expedited service and a nominated fee, the processing days can be reduce to only 5 working days. Please contact us for more detail.
10. I am not in Shanghai but in some other cities of China and in such situation, can JDL still process my visa?
JDL can process your visa in-regardless which city you are located in as long as you are in China. JDL will arrange our courier service to pick up your passport at your doorstep or your desire pick up point and return your passport in the same manner.
11. I have lost my passport and in strain, can JDL assist me?
For lost of passport case, please contact us immediately at 13701984899-24 hours hot line for assistance. We do not charge you for any fees for such assistance except the minimum transportation and communication fee.
